Have your say on plans to reimagine 82-83 Margaret Street
Creating new homes, modern coworking space, wellness facilities and community spaces
Unity Group has recently purchased 82-83 Margaret Street. The building was originally constructed as a convent in 1914, and contains the Grade II listed All Saints Convent Chapel to the rear.
Unity is bringing forward plans to reimagine the seven-storey building in a sustainable way, to create a self-contained community, comprising residential accommodation, coworking space and wellness facilities which include a gym and garden.
At its heart will be the main chapel space and wellness garden, used as an event and community space for both residents and the wider community.
The proposals seek to conserve as much of the embedded carbon in the building as possible by proposing maximum re-use and minimum intervention, which inlcudes the extensive and sensitive restoration of the chapel and preservation of original features within the convent building.
Ahead of submitting a planning application to Westminster City Council next year, we are keen to engage with the local community and understand any feedback.
On this website you will see our initial plans, as well as details of our consultation events.
Please take the opportunity to share your thoughts and suggestions with us about our proposals.

04 Wellbeing
Introduce a wellness garden in the central courtyard to provide much needed green space to support physical health, and mental wellbeing of local community and residents
05 Workspace
Provide new, modern shared coworking space for use by residents
06 Amenities
Bring forward gym facilities at lower ground floor level
07 Sustainability
Target the use of 100% electrical plant, renewal energy and smart energy solutions to minimise energy use and further enhance the sustainability of the site
